ABOUT PAULA

Paula is a member of the Birkenhead Northcote Community Board. She was elected to this position in a by-election in 2008.

In 2001 Paula became New Zealand's youngest ever elected City Councillor and represented the Harbour Ward in North Shore City. During her three years as an elected City Councillor she was appointed as a Council representative to the Birkenhead Northcote Community Board as well as the Glenfield Community Board.

As well as representing the interests of the local community she also represented young people, who had, until then, been largely unrepresented.

Paula has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Auckland with a Double Major in Political Studies and English. She is currently completing a MPhil in Public Policy at AUT. From 2005-2008 she was working in London as a Public Affairs consultant, lobbying in Westminster.

Paula was born on the North Shore and attended Northcote College.
